Kiln sent on its way
From the end of November 2011 to the beginning of April 2012 the huge rotary kiln in the Kirchdorfer cement plant stood still. This was the period when phase two of our huge eco-project was realized.
“We invested four million Euros into the refurbishment of our clinker cooler. In the future we will be able to use our heat recovery system even more efficiently and reduce our CO2 emission by 2,400 tons, which equals an annual heat consumption of 700 households.” Plant manager Dipl.Ing Anton Secklehner is also very pleased about the fact that the renovation works were accomplished without any accidents.
In March 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. – one week earlier than planned – the rotary kiln and the new clinker cooler were “sent on their way” as we say in our branch. Ing. Kurt Stefsky, shareholder of the Kirchdorfer cement plant had the honor to incinerate the kiln. The majority of the staff members, the shareholder Eva Hofmann and Mag, Erich Frommwald, manager of the Kirchdorfer Group were also present.
