DELTA BLOC arranges Symposium in Qatar

On 7 January 2014 the Doha Technical Laboratories, an accredited testing laboratory and service provider to contractors, local authorities and government bodies, arranged in cooperation with DELTA BLOC International GmbH a Symposium on Road Safety Concrete Barriers in Doha/Qatar.

With the accelerated pace of road constructions in Qatar and upcoming major events in the region, there is a need and great interest for the implementation of international safety standards and products.

DELTA BLOC introduced the European Standard EN 1317, national standards in the European Union, latest developments of concrete vehicle restraint systems in Austria as well as suitable DELTABLOC® products with

• lowest impact severity level ASI A
• highest containment level H4b
• rigid safety barriers with working width W1

“The main benefit of concrete barriers is prevention of road accidents and violations by commuters’ violations as well as road accidents. Today’s symposium highlights the importance of barriers for road safety and introduces the latest technology in the field to the roads of Qatar”, the participating Central Municipal Council’s Vice-President Jassim al Malki said after the interesting event.
